Böblingen/Munich, 01.06.2023 – Synapticon GmbH, expert in Integrated Motion, has been developing and producing innovative software and hardware for sophisticated motion control in robotics, automation and mechanical engineering for ten years. The company, today announces the creation and filling of the position of Chief Growth Officer (CGO) with Gonzalo Buelta O’Donnell.
Synapticon is thus taking a strategically important step in view of the ever-increasing demand for innovative motion technology in the field of robotics and machine building.
“In 2023, the previous record result from 2018 of 15.1 billion euros is likely to be significantly exceeded once again with expected sales of 16.2 billion euros,” according to the VDMA Robotics + Automation trade association. “Compared to the previous year, the industry expects a 13 percent increase in sales.” Synapticon intends to benefit even more from this trend in the future and at the same time further expand its technology leadership in the motion control sector.
As Chief Growth Officer, Buelta’s primary focus is to develop and oversee effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve the company’s goal: global leadership in integrated drive solutions. Gonzalo Buelta has delivered successful business results in all of his roles with strategic vision, a collaborative mindset and strong leadership skills.
“As the new and first CGO at Synapticon, my goal is to lead the company to the forefront of the robotics and automation industry. Technologically, we are already in that position, now it’s a matter of tapping into a market that is really going full throttle right now” explains Buelta. “Manufacturers of cobots, AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) and automation components for machine building, urgently need combined hardware and software solutions that allow them to develop both more compact and more powerful, safer and, last but not least, more cost-effective products. This is exactly what we make possible, and now it’s a matter of convincing even more companies of this.”
Gonzalo Buelta O’Donnell was founder and general manager of Berger Lahr Spain in 1999. After the acquisition by Schneider Electric in 2005, he assumed various leadership positions in the Motion organization. In 2012, he became vice president of machine solutions for North, Central and South America and general manager of IMS (Intelligent Motion System), a company owned by Schneider and based in Connecticut (USA). In 2016, Buelta became vice president of Schneider Electric USA, leading the OEM (machine builder), panel business and system integrator divisions in the US. After ten years in the U.S., he returned to Europe to become general manager of sales and marketing at Elmo Motion Control, which was acquired by Bosch in 2022. From there, he now joins Synapticon.
“We have here an experienced engineer with strong business acumen and outstanding market knowledge in a position that will become more and more important for us,” explains Nikolai Ensslen, CEO and founder of Synapticon. “In recent years, we have invested quite massively, first in basic research and then in the concrete development of hardware and software with which we intend to massively advance the entire industry. Now it’s a matter of continuing to bring this performance potential to the road.”
