SYNAPTICON AND STABILUS ARE DEVELOPING A JOINT PRODUCT LINE OF INTEGRATED ACTUATORS FOR HUMANOID ROBOTS

Schönaich / Koblenz, July 29, 2026 — Synapticon GmbH, a specialist in integrated drive technology and functional safety in robotics, and Stabilus SE, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of motion control solutions, have entered into a strategic partnership. Together, the two companies are developing and manufacturing a joint product line of integrated actuators for humanoid robots and other robotics applications.
Humanoid robots are currently leaving research laboratories and are on the verge of being deployed in industrial applications. This shifts the key challenge: from a functional prototype to reliable mass production that meets the highest quality standards and minimizes maintenance costs. This partnership addresses precisely this threshold—at the drive level, which determines precision, safety, and scalability in every humanoid joint.
TWO AREAS OF EXPERTISE, ONE SYSTEM
The partners’ roles complement each other perfectly: Synapticon provides the actuator’s “brain”—software, functional safety, electronics and sensor design, and drive technology. Stabilus contributes mechanical design, sourcing, industrialization, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics. Stabilus has already delivered millions of electromechanical actuators to the automotive industry alone. It is only through the combination of these two areas of expertise that individual components are transformed into a production-ready, scalable product.
The joint product line covers humanoid joints across all size categories—from the head and wrist to the hip and knee. From the outset, production is designed for large-scale manufacturing, modeled after automotive manufacturing and quality standards.
COMMENTS ON THE PARTNERSHIP
“Humanoid robots need drive systems that integrate motion control, safety, and high-volume production from the very beginning,” says Simon Fischinger, CEO of Synapticon. “With Stabilus, we’re gaining a partner that has been manufacturing precision mechanics to automotive standards and in automotive volumes for decades. Together, we’re taking the drive systems for humanoid robots from the prototype stage to mass production.”
“Humanoid robotics is one of the most exciting growth markets of the coming decade. We’ve known Synapticon for many years and are confident that, with this company, we have an outstanding partner at our side for our expansion into robotics,” says David Sabet, Chief Technology Officer of Stabilus SE. “Synapticon sets the standard in robotics for integrated drive intelligence and functional safety—exactly the expertise that complements our manufacturing and industrialization strengths to create a complete system ready for series production. Our goal is to occupy a key position in the drive systems of humanoid robots. This partnership is an important building block of our growth strategy beyond established markets.”
