SYNAPTICON AT THE ROBOTICS SUMMIT & EXPO 2026 IN BOSTON – POSITRON SAFETY AI FOR HUMANOID ROBOTS
On May 27 and 28, 2026, the Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston will bring together the leading figures in the North American robotics community. Synapticon will be there with its own booth to demonstrate how integrated functional safety is becoming an enabler for the next generation of humanoid and mobile robots.
WHERE TO FIND US
Synapticon will be at Booth 239 at the expo. Dieter Volpert and Gonzalo Buelta will be on hand to personally showcase the entire product portfolio, ranging from the SOMANET™ servo drive family and ACTILINK actuators to the POSITRON Safety AI platform.
KEYNOTE: FUNCTIONAL SAFETY FOR HUMANOID ROBOTS
During the conference portion of the summit, Dieter Volpert will deliver a keynote address on “Advanced Functional Safety for Humanoid Robots.” The focus will be on why traditional industrial safety approaches such as Safe Torque Off (STO) do not work for humanoid robots—a humanoid robot that has its power shut off will fall over—and what new safety architecture is required to enable robots to move safely in close proximity to humans.
The keynote will focus on the three-tier POSITRON Safety AI architecture:
- Tier 1 – Multi-Axis Safe Motion: Hardware-certified safety functions for 50+ degrees of freedom, distributed across the SOMANET™ drives via FSoE
- Tier 2 – Safe Human Detection: Camera-based 3D volume monitoring with dynamic safety zones
- Tier 3 – AI Behavioral Safety: Multimodal AI-based scene analysis, clearly separated from the deterministic safety loop
ACTILINK-JD AND POSITRON SAFETY AI
At the Synapticon booth (No. 239), Dieter Volpert and Gonzalo Buelta will be demonstrating the ACTILINK-JD Dynamic Actuators—Synapticon’s highly dynamic articulated actuators for humanoid robots, robotic dogs, and exoskeletons—as well as the POSITRON Safety AI platform.
WHY THE ROBOTICS SUMMIT MATTERS TO SYNAPTICON
The Robotics Summit & Expo is the leading U.S. event for robotics development and engineering. For Synapticon, Boston is a key venue for meeting with OEMs, humanoid startups, and system integrators from the North American market—one of the key growth regions for humanoid robotics.
