From June 22 to 25, 2026, Synapticon will be at Automate in Chicago, the largest automation trade show in the Americas (McCormick Place). On the stage of the Humanoid Robot Pavilion, Synapticon will join Reynolds and Moore in hosting a panel discussion addressing one of the industry’s most pressing questions:

How does a humanoid robot become safe enough to leave its cage?

The title of the panel is "Beyond the Cage: Navigating Humanoid Safety Standards, Field Realities, and the Road to Certification. " It focuses on the current state of safety standards, the realities on the ground, and the concrete path to certification—beyond safety fences and emergency stop buttons.

The panelists are:

Synapticon has formed a safety engineering partnership with Reynolds & Moore that combines engineering expertise with a certified drive and safety platform. The POSITRON Safety Platform provides the technical foundation: It addresses functional safety for humanoids at the system level—Safe Motion, Certified Safe Human Detection, and AI Behavioral Safety—with a target of SIL3 / PLe.

Industrial robots are safe because they operate behind safety barriers. Humanoids cannot do that. It is precisely this gap—and how standards, real-world conditions, and certification can be reconciled—that we will be discussing in Chicago.

Details about the Pavilion Stage can be found in the Automate Agenda program.
