The SOMANET Safe Motion Module allows to reach SIL3 PLe Safety over Fail Safe over EtherCAT and fits all SOMANET Servo Drive Modules.
The SOMANET Safe Motion Module is physically mounted between the Processor Module and Drive Module. This enables the Safety Module to supervise, generate and receive safety critical signals without the necessity to change the existing hardware or introduce complex wiring to the solution. The SOMANET Safe Motion Module provides Safety Functions such as STO, SBC, SS1, SS2, SLS, SLP, SLT, which are all available via FSoE or I/O.
Integrating the safety functionality directly into drives has several benefits:
